Hello, I consider myself a warm, compassionate person with a gift of patience. I empathize with many because I know what it feels like to need someone one to lend a hand and how difficult it may be to ask for that help when needed. At age 15, I cared for my dying mother and father, and decided to dedicate my life to be of service to others who could no longer care for themselves. I can honestly say that care giving brings out the best in me. When I see a need, whether it be physical, mental or spiritual one, I am challenged to work with the families to help fulfill that need. Everyone deserves that kind of experience in life and I believe everyone needs somebody. As a Certified Nurses Assistant, I am limited to wound care except non sterile wound care like applying bandages, limited to inserting and removing tubes like feeding tubes, limited to replacing colostomy bags except emptying it, limited to catheter tubes except emptying or replacing Texas catheter, and limited to other medical care such as administration of medication which is done by nurses. It is important that I provide quality personal care while ensuring that the client's health is mentally, socially, physically, and emotionally stable. I have experience with Hospice patients, Geriatric patients, and Alzheimer patients. As part of my job, I will report any incidents that occurs or occurred in the resident's home or residential. I like to give report of the services provided to the care team and family member in charge at the end of my shift. I got into this field because i've always wanted to help people since I was a young child, but it wasnt until I assisted with the care of my great-grandmother who had Alzheimer's that I really knew this is what I wanted to do! Im not a perfect person by any means, but I do try my very best to assure that I give all my clients the type of care I would want myself or my own family to receive!
