Hello! My name is Brittany and I've been a CNA for 7 years now. I have experience in hospitals, long term care, home care, and travel healthcare. I have a passion for people. I love making people laugh and spending time with them. I love care giving because it gives me a sense of achievement when I've made the persons day and knowing that I'm able to help them in any ways I can. I am in the Medical Program through Olean CTE Boces. I love to help people. I am a senior in highschool right now soon to graduate. In the mid of July I will be leaving for basic trainjng for the United States Air Force. Hopefully later on I will pursue a career in Neurology.

I'm a mom to a 13 year old boy. I've been in the medical/caregiving field for 11 years since I Graduated highschool. I've always wanted to work with and help people since I was young. I went to BOCES for Medical Assistance for 2 years and Graduated. I'm very compassionate, calming and peaceful person.

I completed my Licensed Practical Nursing degree in 1981. I began working in the home health field and found I really enjoyed the one on one connection with those I cared for. I have worked for agencies and have had many private care clients. I love making a difference in a persons life. Im a caring person and have a cheerful personality. Ive had compliments on both my cooking and housekeeping skills. Im 52 years old and have 3 grown daughters and one grandson. I completed 2 additional degrees. I have an associate degree in early childhood education and an associate degree in Criminal Justice. I love to volunteer and had been a Girl Scout Leader, helped the American Red Cross with fundraising activities, and was a PTA President and Vice President. I am a hardworking, detail oriented caregiver. I have experience with all aspects of home care including bathing, feeding, dressing, use of hoyer lifts and assist with ROM exercises. I also houseclean, cook, and run errands.

From the time I was a little girl I always wanted to help people. My mother a sweet warm hearted women was born with a rare condition at the time hyperglycemic leucine sensitive. Which is a rare disorder that caused her to have many seizures due to the fact her body was unable to regulate insulin levels. From this condition she had mental retardation. The medications to help her condition have always been trial and error. I can remember while my father was at work if my mother’s sugar dropped or she began having a seizure knowing to give her orange juice to rise her sugar level.Than when she became stable giving her protein since it’s a long lasting stabilizer. Sometimes if her sugar dropped and wasn’t caught in time she would go into convulsions. I knew to keep her from banging against something and prevent her tough from going back into her throat. Growing up with a mother mentally slower than I was; I was forced to mature fast. I often times was taking care of my mother more than she was taking care of me while my father was gone. But I enjoyed doing it. I love the satisfaction of taking care of others. From then on I always had a high interest in the medical field. I loved science and anatomy. And I often read books on rare conditions such as my mothers. I took my course and become certified as a personal care aide and a home health aide. I have become a care giver for the simple reason I love people and enjoying helping in any way I can. I have always had an interest in helping helping others. I enjoy being a caregiver because I get to help people change their lives, make them easier. I am able to assist patients with so many different things it gives me a great feeling. I have been a certified nursing assistant for five years now and enjoy every second of it. I am enrolled in school to become a nurse practitioner and have quite a while to go but am very enthusiastic about it.
