What makes me a great caregiver? I have a calm and compassionate demeanor and enjoy listening to the stories my clients tell me about their life. I was attracted to caregiving when my mother became unable to take care of herself after a fall in 2011. It was my opportunity to give back and it taught me patience, understanding, and the need to anticipate their needs without being asked. I enjoy the feedback I get from those I care for. They let me know how much they appreciate what I do. I personally feel a sense of accomplishment with my clients when I realize I have earned their trust. They tend to ask for me on subsequent occasions.

I have great compassion for people especially our elderly and vets. I enjoy helping and being there for my people in need. I have sympathy and empathy for people . I understand how it is. For both patients and the pressure it puts on the family especially the ones who have to do the caregiving. I am also a very patient with people. Working in a memory care facility I've learned how to deal with the special needs of those kind of patients.

I became a care giver years ago and I love my job. I have respect and compassion for elderly people and I like to make there days or nights better by talking to them and encouraging them, and helping them all I can. As a teenager I was introduced to the duties of a home health aid when my grandmother was struck down with a terminal illness. Years later, after having worked in office administration for many years, I decided to go back to my roots and devote myself to the care and assistance of those who can be particularly challenging for health care professionals. Though I have cared for clients of different ages and needs, I am blessed to have a particular talent with people suffering from dementia and Alzheimers. I consider the role of a caregiver to be much more than simply providing basic care. I enjoy learning a client's personal preferences, challenges, and what brings them enjoyment.
