I have about 20 years of health care experience as a CNA, home health aide, patient care assistant, resident assistant, and my last adventure was as an RN with a hospice organization in Florida. My passion is caring for others. Even as a young girl, I was very attentive toward others needs. I have always put my heart in my work and cared for my patients and clientele, as if they were family. I am very considerate and respectful of others things, personal spaces, likes and dislikes. I easily adapt to personal preferences, as I understand that we all have them. My job is to assist one, to complete their daily activities, as if they were able to do it themself. I enjoy being an uplifting and fun individual. I am a lover of the outdoors, so if one may enjoy trips outdoors, I am more than willing to accomadate. I enjoy bringing a smile to someone's face and a little light into their darkness. I love animals as well, so light animal care is fine with me as well. I am very organized and like to keep my spaces neat and clean. I am very hygiene and health oriented, as well as knowledgeable on preventing the spread of infection. I have been a certified nurse assistant for almost 8 years and I love it. I never dread work and I always find myself smiling. I love caring for people and having them look at me with trust. I have 2 beautiful children who count on only me and they are also proud of what I do.

I am 47 years old. I am a mother of 6, with the youngest being 20. I am also a "Mimi" to 5 and have two rescue kitties and a big-personalitied pug named Lola. I lost both my parents young and in losing them I feel a deeper appreciation for generations older than mine and the historic and generational knowledge they hold. Everyone should be treated with dignity and respect, no matter what age, and watching my father not receive the care he deserved as a disabled veteran further fuels that desire. I've cared for students age birth thru 21 with special needs for 20 years and am looking for new adventures!

What makes me a great caregiver is that I am a very homely down to earth type person. Very patient and hardworking. I a care a lot about other people. Especially our elderly family members, because.. hey they took care someone their self once. I think people deserve the best of attention and care because in improves their quality of life and they get to stay in their comfort zone. I love to spend time with elderly people and listen to what they have to say. It allows be to be able to make sure that I know they are treated like human beings and that all of their needs are taken care of. My 2 personal achievements that I have completed in home health so far was staying with 2 people for many years each until the passed away. They became my best friends and then family.

I have been a Caregiver off and on for 10 years. It has always been a passion caring for the elderly, they depend on us when there is not always family there. Since losing my father to cancer this year, it brings me even closer to those who need me most. A personal achievement would have to be the humanitarian contract I was able to work with the Afghan refugees this year.

I am a Physical Therapist who is changing the direction of my career. I want move outside of my PT career but continue to develop relationships with my clients and help them maximize their quality of life by providing the care they need. I have worked with most medical issues, including dementia, for many years in every setting, from hospital to skilled nursing to Homecare and have helped with toileting, feeding and all aspects of mobility. I have always had a love for our Senior Citizens since I was young, my Grandma worked at Bristol Nursing Home for 34 years, she would take me to pass out treats to the Residents, from then on I knew I would work with them. It is the best feeling to know that you are helping someone have a better quality of life even if it is just with you presence or helping them shower or with a meal or simply having a chat with them, after all its much better to give than to recieve.
