I am Virginia Board Certified Nursing Assistant with over five years of home health and assisted living care. After raising four children I returned to school and became certified as a Home Health Aid, Nursing Assistant as well as Phlebotomy Tech. I became a caregiver in 1992 in order to enter a field that I loved and that I could also help others in at the same time. The best part of the job is engaging with different people and hearing of their varying stories about life. There is so much to learn from them.

I become a caregiver when my mom got sick. I realize at that moment I will be a good aide. I love taking care of people. I really enjoy the feeling of putting a smile on someone's face. letting them know they can always count on me to be there to assist when the needs arises. I have recieved awards for my job. I have families who still keep in touch with me because of how wonderful i took care of their love ones. I think of myself as a kind-hearted and empathetic person. I always offer words of encouragement and comfort to my residents. I want a career that puts a smile on peoples face when I help them do even the littlest of things like helping with their daily routine or even having a conversation or giving them compliments .
