Hi! I have been doing this for about 6 years & have loved it since! I love being able to help keep their independence but know that I will always be there if they need help, with anything, big or small. I enjoy being that companion for them. Letting them have someone be in their presence to talk to, rely on, anything. I feel like I have grown so much in this field of work. Not only that, but nursing will always have a special place in my heart! I look forward to meeting new people & building good, healthy bonds with them!

Hi my name is April. I have worked in this field since I was 15 I knew then that I loved taking care of people and that people loved me. I always have a good personality and a smile on my face. I took care of my grandfather at home until he passed away and also both of my parents. My father became paralyzed after a hunting trip and I brought him home and took care of him that's how I learned trach care and feeding tube care. And currently I have an uncle who has a mass in his throat and I've been taking care of him at home since last December he also has a trach and a feeding tube. I have always stepped up and brought my family members home to care for instead of being placed in a nursing home.There I know they always are short staffed and patients can't get the care they need like they can at a home setting with just one aide.

My easiest to get around all them me being a caregiver helps to hear stories and taking or helping everybody taking care and meeting new people I dont think I have any right now

Strong empathy to surrounding individuals, compassion for life and everyone's feelings, pay strong attention to detail, ambitious, caring, willingness to go the extra mile. I've been a caregiver for over 5 years. My mother is severely physically disabled and needed someone to properly take care of her, that'll show up every day, who can be trusted and has the willingness and knowledge to perform tasks and duties. I like being able to make someone smile, to help them regain happiness and cope with their regression into older age. I know it's hard to accept limitations and I'm good at helping people to overcome issues that affect their capabilities. It's a great feeling knowing I helped them be more self sufficient or to know that I helped them be more comfortable if self sufficiency is not an option. I've helped my mother become less stressed and depressed. I've help her become comfortable because I know her needs and wants and cater to them as needed, sometimes before she even needs it.
