Hi I am Heidi I am an upbeat caring person whom has provided caregiving for 8 years and love every moment ! Not just professionally but also personally for friends and family. I have more than 13 years of experience working (full time) with individuals with developmental disabilities. In group, private residential, community, and classroom settings. Also in transportation. I have been told that my compassion towards them is extremely apparent. I am there for the individuals 100%. For their health and well-being but also for their quality of life. I also believe that promoting as much independence as one can have. When I have worked one-to-one or in someone's home that was where I felt I could make the most difference. I have worked in medically intensive houses as well as behavior intensive. I also worked for NYSOPWDD and am required to pass an extensive background check, which I have. I love what I do and have never been told anything other than I do it well. My heart is full when I'm caring for people. I get out of it what I put into it, if not more so. If I can make someone in my care smile, laugh or feel comfort, I feel like my day was a successful one!

I earned my CNA when I was 18 and my passion for helping others grew. I learned hands on and specialized in Alzheimer's care and dementia; furthered my nursing education to become a clinical medical technician and worked in a hospital setting, taking great pride and compassion for families and their loved ones. With that being said, a personal experience changed my direction, which led me to want to help families with their loved ones in the care and comfort of their own home. When your loved one falls ill it can become emotionally and physically draining, which is why I take great care in helping families and their loved ones.

I'm a hardworking and motivated employee. I went to BOCES and completed the Health Occupations program. I received several awards during this time for competing in a state wide competition called Skills USA. I currently have been working as a home aide since August of 2016 and I love it.
