If I have any kind of developmental disability or I have become aged, weak or sick and need support, what sort of person would I like to take care of me? That is the kind of person I am. I have a lot of compassion and Love to offer. I'm patient and kind; I would do anything to make sure that the person I'm taking care of is comfortable and happy. I will make sure that they never lack what they need from me as their CNA. I believe in following rules and regulations that are laid out for me without any fail. I started of in the caregiving field with taking care of my grandfather. In the process I got to learn a lot and I did enjoy doing it. I once had a client who had dementia (late stage), who did not want to go to bed (it was late at night). One thing that the client enjoyed was watching animal documentaries . I showed the client pictures of different animals that I had taken when I went to Kenya and the client calmed down and I was able to redirect the client to bed. My patience with the client helped me assure the client that I was on her side. This scenario really made me proud of the caregiver that I'm becoming. I love what I do.

I'm Anita 27 years, South African, when I was there I worked as a caregiver for seniors from the ages of 48to 89 in large groups of 4 to 7 for a year where I assist residents with dementia and Alzheimer's diseases with daily living needs and I also worked as a private caregiver. I was told I could not help because I was not a caregiver.
