I served Miss B. Geronemus in her "palatial" South Florida home for an average of 90 hours plus a week for 4 years. She passed away from natural causes year at 99(4 months short of 100). It was myself and one other Caregiver, Patricia, that provided her 24/7 care. There was no Agency involvement. The job had been privately contracted. My CNA certification allowed me to go above and beyond the care provided by Non Medical Caregivers. In addition to ADLs, IADLs, I was able to administer medications and perform prescribed treatments. Of course cooking, cleaning, hygiene, grooming, transportation to outings and appointments, etc... were all parts of my job duties.

2 year old Celeste had aTraumatic Brain Injury as a result of Shaken Baby Syndrome. Sadly, caused by her ignorant babysitter, whom gave the young child a sucker at the park... You can only imagine the rest. I was asked by her parents, my long time friends, Craig and Courtney, to move from Louisiana to Las Vegas and be a third set of hands for them. They are both very busy business professionals. My duties consisted of feeding, bathing, and closely monitoring Celeste. I also transported and attended Physical, Occupational, Speach, Aquatic, and Equestrian Therapies 7 days a week. Cooking and cleaning were also required. I was with her almost a year. Celeste started a special school in Hollywood, Florida and my services were no longer required. UPDATE: She has come a long way baby!!!
