I am a great caregiver because I care about people. To me it is not just a job. I have a genuine kindness and concern for others and look to fulfill client emotions as well as physical needs. I was born into a family with older parents, so growing up in this family and seeing some of the struggles that my parents face was any eye opening experience. When my mother was diagnosis with Alzheimer's I became actively interested in finding as much as I could about it. To learn more and become a participant in helping the elderly, I took a job with Home Instead Senior Care, where I was given training in senior care in there comprehensive training program. I learned the basics in caregiving through there GRAD program and the Safety Training Guide. I moved forward with the Activity Training Guide to enhance my capabilities and benefits of being a Caregiver. The Activity Guide helped me fulfill a vital role in the lives of my clients. It brought meaning and fulfillment to their everyday world through activities and leisurely pastimes we share. It's like icing on the cake - a sweet extra that enhances my client's quality of life and help build the kind of relationship that makes my caregiving more rewarding. When my client's family approached me and telling how much they appreciate me in taking on the responsibilities of there loved one.
