I have been a CNA and went to school for medical training in Respiratory Therapy, xray technician and Heath Science. I have a vast understanding of medical terminology and procedures. I can assist with medical appointments. Most of my clients have some type of memory loss in different stages. I am a mother of one adult child and proud grandmother of a 2 ( 1 just born this year 2024) one grandson who is in college. I have done private catering and I enjoy cooking and juicing fruits and vegetables. I do private over night care and hospice separately from Carelinx. I am very patient and compassionate. I have experience working in assisting living environments. I also been working in in- home care settings. I worked +2 years in working with disabled adults. Skilled in assisting patients with daily activities. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver was when I would see my mom caring for her dad and she would have a hard time and she didn't know how to find help and I would try helping her even if it was helping to set up clothes for the day or helpings in making a meal. So now that I'm getting older I want to be prepared to one day be able to personally care for my parents. I'm looking to leverage my passion & commitment to clients well- being to improve their quality of life. I always care for a client the same way I would care for a family member I have compassion, empathy and understanding that they still want to be independent and assist when needed. Helping others and bringing joy to their lives is a accomplishment anyone can feel proud of.

My name is Dorcas matongoh I was born and raised in east Africa, Kenya. I came to the USA in20111. I'm a female. I went to Annrose school of nursing and I graduated as a CNA. My first job was at Balfour memory care in Louisville. I then worked at Frasier meadows skilled care, Broomfield skilled care . Good Samaritan hospital and lastly at Junipervillage where I'm working now. . I like working with the elderly because I took care of my grandmother who was sick and I have passion working with them. All my career I have worked with people of all ages in a customer service environment. The last 26 years in a medical environment and have found I attract to the seniors who sometimes need more patience, guidance and kindness.

I have been doing in home care, facility care. For about 15 yrs. I can connect well with others. Compassionate about my clients needs and wants. Building trust and friendship is important to me. Helping my clients live a happy and meaningful life. Whatever that may be for every individual. I enjoy being a caregiver, because I like helping others. Making someone's day better. I'm Qmap certified, as well as CPRand first aid certified.

Throughout my career, I have always enjoyed helping other people. I am patient and a good listener. I like to find what other people are interested in and join them in enjoying these activities. I have worked with families providing respite care for caregivers and am interested in continuing do so as I contemplate retirement. My interests and work background are broad and varied (e.g., ministry, teaching, respite care, sports coach and umpire/referee, home remodeling/ repair, reading, crossword puzzles, hiking, camping, all sports, movies). I am experienced in in-home care as well as taking my "friends" on outings of their choice. I am blessed with a loving wife, a son, and two (soon to be three) grandchildren.

I belivee to be detail oriented to bea caregiver on to acknowledge each customer, client or resident their changes each and every day. i am good with companionship and are a great listener. I have a big heart as a caregiver and the needs for those who I care for is very important to me and the family. What I enjoy as being a caregiver is activities of daily duties. I want to make sure the care for them is more important and the importance of their personal hygiene the care for their activities for light exercises and the hours for when they have eaten or not is very important before helping them with other things such as light housekeeping. The concern for the client's health is more important than anything else.
