Hi, I am eager to get back into the business of serving again. I served at the Opelika Housing Authority for 25 years and then retired in 2019. Serving the elderly/disabled was most rewarding. I would like the opportunity to serve your family as a caregiver. My mother/grandmother was disabled and I was their primary caregiver for years. I loved preparing meals, cleaning, bathing and the many doctor visits. We would talk and laugh for hours at a time. I consider myself to be a people person, trustworthy and I will give the shirt off my back. I am most proud of being able to take care of my mother during her last days. My job allowed to be off with pay for several months and it was a journey I will never forget.

I started caregiving for my grandfather. I was asked to sit with Gramps the last 3 years of his life. I enjoyed sitting with Gramps. I got to hear some stories from him of his younger days. I have precious memories. I have sat for 3 other people. But of course Gramps was my favorite.

Hello families! My name is Kaitlyn, but I prefer Katie. I'm 28 years old living in Phenix City, Alabama. I've been in the Customer Service/ Hospitality/ Caregiving field for 10 years! It all started when I was 17 years old. I had an Aunt who was diagnosed with brain cancer. She was put into an assisted living facility and I got a job in food service so I could spend as much time with her as I could. Even though I was in dietary, I was her personal caregiver on my off time. I was with her until she went to heaven, and I don't regret one second of it. I learned so much from her that I fell in love and found my calling in life. I LOVE THIS CAREER! It's a good feeling being able to help those who can no longer do it themselves. Families usually get a caregiver because everyone works, and can't spend all that time missing work. That's why you need someone you can trust, and know your family member is safe and happy! I'm currently going to get my nursing degree, so I can do more for my community. One of the big reasons I think I have thrived as a caregiver is because I'm a very outgoing and caring person. I care about everyone else and make sure they are happy. I put them before myself. I'm always smiling and laughing, which makes my patients happy. I'm a very open person as well, which makes it easier to talk to families! Some of my strengths are time management, I'm a hard worker, I'm always up for a challenge, and I'm always willing to learn a new skill or try something new, and PATIENCE! Patience is a key strength in this career field. I have experience with Alzheimer's/ Demntia, Diabetes, Colostomy/ Catheters changes, amputees, mental illness, cancer, and TBI injuries. I definitely love being a Caregiver I've been doing that for about 20 years the families I work for loved having me there I understand very well about taking care of there love ones I'm very understanding I'm always on time I'm never late to be there when they needs me I'm so proud that I'm very good at being a Caregiver I will take care of them just like I would do my own family I pray that someone would give me a chance to take care of there love ones and I definitely looking forward to be there when they needs me Thank you so much

My personal traits is being better than I were the day before being passionate and loving what I do. knowing that I'm can make a difference in someone life.. What I enjoy the most is being able to meet new people and being able to share and listen to wisdom...I'm proud of the achievements I've made in becoming a caregiver it has helped me grow tremendously I can say I look at life total different and knowing that I'm making a difference in someone else life means alot to me.

I'm honest and hard working. And I love working with older people. I started by getting my CNA liscence right out of high school, which was about four years ago. My first aid job was with STAT Medical Services, which was an oncall staffing agency. Through them, I worked with several nursing homes. I've also worked some private duty. And I'm currently employed with Glory Hospice and Palliative Care.
