What makes me a great caregiver is that I love all the elderly like my own. I like taking care of my grandparents and I love hearing all there stories from the past and I love spending time with the elderly. While working with ARc of Baldwin County, the Viola House was about to be close down by state because of poor keeping. With the help of good teamwork / people that needed to work and much pray the house became a home to eight mental challenge people within three months. I love what I do.

My name is Deanna Richardson, and although I am only 20, I would like to consider myself as an experienced caregiver (although I know that there is much more to learn). I also consider myself as very hard working, reliable, trustworthy, and compassionate. Before getting my CNA certification in October of 2016, I cared for several family members in high school that had mental disorders, a stroke, and dementia. After receiving my CNA certification I went straight to work. I have worked home health, in a hospital, and hospice care. I am very passionate about caring for others; I truly believe that it is my "calling." I do not see being a CNA as a job, but as an opportunity to be there for someone during their time of need. As a CNA, I know that it is the little things that count.
