I have been a caregiver since I was a child. My dad had polio and my mom had other physical problems so, I became their caregiver. As an adult, I have enjoyed Hospice work, working with dementia patients and working with children. I feel like helping others is what my purpose in life is. I enjoy it and love meeting and learning from new people.

I've been working as a caregiver for 6 years now. I love the field that I work in.! I have had many accomplishments and also challenges working as a caregiver.! My patients/clients are my family! I love them just like they are my own family! My patients encourage me in days that I can't encourage myself! Being an experienced caregiver striving me to become a LPN & RN in about 5 years! I got into being a caregiver at the young age of 16 I would go to a nursing home and volunteer with the Hospic patients. Being able to make There day and time special meant something to me. So every since then I knew my calling was to be a caregiver to selfless and being able to help others has been the best journey of my life. The best gift I can get out of being a caregiver is being able to give the patient what they need and knowing I made a difference in there life when they needed it the most. The most rewarding and biggest achievement I have gotten out of my passion for caregiving was working with a Patient who had Huntington's disease, I was very close to her and her family and knowing I made a difference in her life all the way to the end lent the world to me. I love being a caregiver it is a passion it isn't just work for me never has been.

Hi!! I've been a caregiver for 23 yrs and i guess you could say its "in my blood" most of the female's in my family were or are a LPN,RN,CNA, i have enjoyed every minute of it! Its like your family never stops growing!!

I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where I have one-on-one interaction with others. I enjoyed taking care of elder family members and would like to help others in this way. I like older adults and feel I can get along well with a variety of elders. I like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone’s life. I like doing a variety of tasks in a day. I don’t ever say, “that’s not my job” but instead like pitching in to do whatever is needed. I like making someone smile and doing little things to make a person’s day better. I take pride in I pay attention to detail. I don’t want a desk job; I'd like being physical in my job and using my body as well as my brain. I'm seeking a career with growing opportunities. I don’t want to invest in many years of formal education but I'm are willing to learn new skills and take continuing education to do your job well. I feel that when I'm are older, you’d want someone like yourself there to help you if you need help.

I believe everyone should be cared for with respect and dignity and a degree of comfortability. I try to care for my clients and treat them as if it were my mom or grandma or grandpa etc. that I am caring for. The highest level of respect are given to the elderly because they have most definitely earned it and just because their bodies won't allow them to be self sufficient doesn't mean they great treated poorly in my eyes. I believe they should feel like they are being pampered when cared for and enjoy the rest of their life in the comfort of their own homes not some nursing home where they don't receive one on one care around the clock. I was all my clients to feel dignified and secure and know that I will see to it they get the nutrition and healthcare they very much deserve in the comfort of their own home. I exercise their minds by playing games or puzzles and coloring for those who can't get around much. I assist in their spiritual guidance by reading scriptures if they so desire. I clean house and assist in their personal hygiene and am an excellent companion. I can run errands with or for my client. I'll make sure your family is treated like my family and take the worry off your mind.

I became a caregiver because when i was younger my grandmother was a caregiver. i was so amazed at how great she took care of the people and i wanted to do the same. So I became one myself. The pride I take in caring for others shows in my work and also in my smile. I like to make people happy and know that they can trust in good care with me.
