I enjoy helping people, and comes very natural to me. In my spare time I enjoy swimming,biking, reading,and hiking.

I have worked with seniors since I was 9 years old volunteering at senior living care homes. I have always had a special place in my heart for elderly. As I became an adult I knew I wanted to keep working with them. I have worked with several families in Reno for the last 16 years. I am patient, kind, and will give them the dignity they deserve. I have experience helping with medication reminders and organization, bathing, meal prep, light housekeeping, running errands, and companionship.

She would take me to work with her and let me help with the residents (mainly just talking with them at that age). Once I got older I tried a few different types of jobs, didn't like them, and then tried caregiving and realized it was the work for me. I love it. I get to build connections with the elderly (who I still enjoy talking to as much as I did as a kid), work in a homely environment, and do things I actually enjoy like cooking and cleaning. You can rely on me to be compassionate, attentive, hardworking, and personable with my residents and their family and visitors. I'm also great at keeping schedules (the alarm app is my best friend).

My patience and special attention given to each client gives me great pleasure in assisting the clients in whatever their needs may be. My Mother had an aneurism which originally drew me to being a caregiver. The joy of being a caregiver is the appreciation that I receive in return from each of the patients. Usually with most patients they do not have a large circle of friends or family so they are so appreciative to receive the assistance of another person. Personal achievements are the everyday joy that I can give a patient on the needs that each individual requires.

I am a go getter, I enjoy conversation and I enjoy what I do. I believe myself to be a very sympathetic and empathetic individual and that makes me a great caregiver because I can help my client by relating to their issues and reassuring them things will be ok. I am attracted to being a caregiver because I want nothing more than to help people. I believe every person is beautiful and they all share their own unique stories. I love to hear them all. I am proud that I can say I have been doing this work for over seven years and I wouldn't change it for the world. All the people I meet are amazing and wonderful people. I go home every night feeling accomplished that I might have made a difference in somone's day.

I love being a caregiver, because helping people especially elderly is a very rewarding job, someone need to help elderly and that's me, should help them .. Not everyone likes to be s caregiver but for me it's a very rewarding job. I feel good if I can make an elderly patient smile again and especially if they can get back in walking again . I was very proud of myself when a dementia patient of mine was back to her normal situation ( not exactly normal) but giving the medications on time and feeding or reminding her or him that it's time to eat will help a lot in getting better. Time management for the daily activities of the patient will help a lot in getting better for the patient well being . I considered myself as one of the best caregiver at my job now, and will continue to give my good care to the elderly until I retire .

Hi, my name is DeAnn & I come with over 20 years of caregiving experience with me. I have experience in memory care, special needs care, physical therapy, daily living care, wound care, medication tech certification, home health care certification, first aide & CPR certification, & I'm big into arts & crafts. I believe each person deserves the best care possible & each person is seen.

I love being a caregiver it fits my personality to the max because one of my passions is to care for others. I care for my clients like I would like to be cared for and treated. My mom inspired me to become a caregiver because she was my first client. I enjoy giving my time, care, support, friendship and companionship the most about caregiving. I'm mostly proud to say I have been a caregiver for 5 years and still love it.

People, in general, are born with specific qualities and gifts that, once found and expounded upon, open up a whole new universe of delight, joy, education, and fellowship. Over time, I discovered I was naturally gifted in being creative in the kitchen (via family/friends special diet needs), writing/journaling, and caregiving in all aspects of the word. My background in detailed administrative work, along with sign language, has allowed these two factors to interchange with each of my gifts, especially in communicating with family, powers-of-attorney, and the main person(s) I care for in any setting. My innate love to research and teach has proven to be very useful when I need to be well-versed on the subject at hand and document wherein necessary to show a pattern of improvement or lack thereof. From a caregiver perspective of personal achievement, three come to mind. FIRST, when my son became a Type 1 diabetic, we were able to allow him 1.5 years honeymoon stage on absolutely no insulin through a raw foods diet w/researched supplements. SECOND, I taught basic sign language commands to a three-generational family whose family member had ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), giving them all one year's worth of communication. THIRD, fire season brought two evacuations, two-weeks apart, back-to-back, which meant loading the five P's into the car, including a 95-year old disabled woman on 24/7 oxygen, with dementia, her adult cat in a crate with all his needs, and myself, driving to a nearby hotel/shelter without access to a handicapped or pet-equipped room for two days before returning (to our unscathed) home. Caregiving is a challenge in its own right. Having experienced grandparents and loving on elderly friends growing up, along with becoming a parent, too, certainly are perks. But of all the things I wanted to be when I grew up, a homemaker was one of the highlights for me, and caregiving falls in line with being a homemaker.
