Why a caregiver it has always been in the family the nourishment and ability to help each other. I enjoy how my clients share their life history it means we have bonded in a personal way he or she is willing to give information that is usually meant for their family. After, discovering I really enjoyed the kind of work that I do I went back to school and pursued my CNA/HHA and Acute Care license. I have five years of experience as a PCA, My first encounter was taking care of a stroke client. I'm independent, empathetic, trustworthy, reliable and really committed with the job I've been called to do. I'm currently a Geriatric Aide and working for the Center for Elder's Independence as well.

First of all I must say that since I have been a caregiver I have learned a lot of things as far as being patient, how to truly love and care about someone , because when you are with someone for a long period of time you really get to know that person and become so close to them and once they are gone it really gets to your heart . When I go to work I like to be cheerful ,happy to be here on this earth another day. I like to take my client out for a walk or out for a ride to get an ice cream. I truly love my job!!

I have been a care giver for over 30 years now. It started when I was 17 years old working in a neighborhood coffee shop that seniors dined at regularly. I would overhear them speaking of tasks they could not take care of around their house by themselves. That's when I started offering to come over after work to help them. Then sometimes a husband would come in without a wife or a wife without a husband and I would ask where the other one was, they would reply they were sick at home. I would then asked if I could do anything or check in on them and they really appreciated it. Eventually I gave up my job at the coffee shop and became a full time caregiver. I love working with people while it makes a difference in their life.

What makes me a great caregiver is my compassion and empathy, my desire to help and be beneficial to others. Having a background in healthcare of over 30 years experience taking care of clients from newborns to centurions. I'm trained postoperative rehabilitations and hospice care. My experience as both a registered nurse and chiropractor affords me insight into skills that are needed when taking care of clients with broad healthcare needs.
