I have always wanted to help people with special needs; perhaps because I had a sibling who was born with severe disabilities, so I know first hand the difficulties and challenges faced by these individuals and their families. There was very little help available when I was a child, so we relied mainly on our family for the help and support we needed. Back then, there were no respite services or in-home caregiver services. You took your chances on finding a trustworthy stranger (if you could afford one). Now, it is very gratifying to me to be able to help other people who are dealing with illness or disability in any way I can. I like to make jewelry and craft items, and I like to share those hobbies with my clients, if they're interested. Many of them seem to enjoy these activities and find them gratifying. I also love to read, and some clients enjoy being read to, which I also enjoy. I've been told I'm a good listener and a pretty good companion, as I can adapt to whatever my client is capable of and willing to do. I am experienced, caring, and am a retired social worker.

What makes me a great caregiver is I have a God given gift of compassion and the ability to solve problems. I also have a cheery personality and love to laugh and in this business it's important! Also I know how to get whatever needed... done! I started out 16 years ago taking care of my husband who had renal failure requiring a kidney transplant. When that failed he had to back on dialysis which slowly tore his body down a little at a time and could no longer even walk, shower or brush his teeth. I did everything for him and wouldn't have had it any other way! For the last 2 years I've been taking care of a lady with heart disease. I do her laundry, shop, cook, serve, clean, manage her meds and accompany her to Dr. visits.

I enjoy helping others, I understand as people age they may need some help with things that they cannot do for themselves any longer. I am compassionate, caring and a good listener. I like to make someone's day, even if it is in a small way. I have worked with many different types of people and I always try to make a good connection with each one. I like to get to know my clients, what they enjoy doing, their family, what they did for a living. I try to make each visit a great one.

I am a very patient and compassionate person who enjoys helping others and I find it very rewarding being able to help someone in need. After caring for my mother I found that I felt most accomplished when helping others. What I enjoy most about caregiving is being able to help seniors take back of piece of their independence. I enjoy working on small personal goals with my clients based on their needs. My greatest accomplishment is the purchase of my dream home on Lake Shasta.

I have become a caregiver do to my family. I have taken care of multiple kinds of people from people with disabilities like Parkinson, CP, dementia, alzheimers, and more as well as thoughs without. The company i have worked for had at least 4 clients on shift. With that in mind I have taken care for 14 different people over my life and some for many years. I try to make sure the client is well taken care of with personal touches so that it not just a new staff but someone that will help raise up the person I take care of. If I'm happy about anything most its that I am liked among all the client that I have ever taken care of.

I have years of experience working with the elderly, disabled and at-risk youth. I have excellent references. I enjoy spending time getting to know my clients and allowing them to be as independent as possible. I have worked with teams of doctors, nurses and family members to create comprehensive plans that work for my clients needs. I have EMT experience, am registered with the state of CA, TB tested, current DL, own transportation, insurance and am drug and alcohol free. I would love to hear from you!

I am a licensed CNA and currently working as a mentor to people with developmental and physical disabilities. When I was 12 years old my grandma was diagnosed with ALS and I helped care for her until she passed, that experience led me on to become a CNA and commit to helping those in need with every day living. I'm very open-minded and compassionate.

Im a very loving capassionate person. I relized in my young adolescent years that i am codependent which is why i became a certified nurses assistant. Ive been a care giver,nurses aid and home health aid for over 10 years. I also enjoy cooking which is why i am a certified chef as well.
