I feel like I am a good caregiver because when my dad turned 80 he needed extra help because he started forgetting some stuff. Started to get Alzheimer's. So I began helping him with medication, cooking, cleaning, laundry, errands, doctor appointments, bill paying etc. Sometimes I would find myself at his home 4-5 times a day answering questions over and over again or just to keep him company. He had some amazing stories of his life so I overstayed my visits. It was great! He passed away at 90. Then my sister started having medical problems when she turned 65. I did the same for her and would spend a lot of time with her as well. I cleaned her home, did her laundry and took her to doctor appointments. I kept her company at the hospital as often as I could. We spent a lot of time on the phone. It helped so she wasn't so bored. I enjoyed the time I spent with both of them. It made me feel useful. So after all the help I gave to both of them, I started to look into Caregiving. It's a great career. To help others is great!

I have been a CNA for about 5 years now and it has always been a passion of mine to become a nurse someday to help those in need much more. Throughout the years working as a CNA I have really come to love helping others and being there for them when they feel helpless and lonely. I have lost patients on the way and when it comes down to it as much as you don't want it to bother you it truly does. I have always had a passion for what I do and when I lose those that I'm helping it does hurt me, but I'm always proud for being there to help them when no one else could.

Hello Everyone , I'm Michelle a mother of 8 adults, both males and females. Most of my adult children have children of their own and this brings me joy as a grandmother and great grandmother. Caring for others has always brought my family and those we assist a joy of true care, from us that care for over 60y. I am one of those blessed with this heart. My most recent experiences in caregiving consist of assisting a completely visually challenging man in his home and a woman fighting several pain and weakness in 80% of her body. He now live with family outta state and she is still under my care and getting stronger physically every day. Meal Planning and Prep, along with housekeeping, Bathing support, Hygiene support, Medical Assistance ( On Case By Case Based On Experience, Knowledge, Training and Needs ) I am devoted to being patience, sharing empathy and understanding compassion.
