Like a lot of people who are caregivers I started out taking care of a loved one, who was suffering from Lupus and Heart Disease. She was a retired nurse who was full of knowledge and more than happy to pass it on to me during the ten years I took care of her. I found that not only was I a very good caregiver but that I actually enjoyed it and found it very fulfilling! I think one of the most important things I learned while caring for seniors is that even though they may need help with many different things, some of which are very personal, they are still an adult not a child. My personality traits are how up beat I am. How I started to become a caregiver was because Of my own mother through her stomach surgery. My Name is Clara I am from Syracuse New York I am a certified home health aide through the state of New York I have been doing this line of work every since 2012 . I moved to Fort Myers to take care of my mom in 2015. In that same year I start working for Mr.Robert Taylor for two years we just move him into Assistant Living in December of 2017 ,but I still see him once a week to take him for errands if needed. Sorry to say , but Mr. Taylor passed in 2018. My current employer is Mr. And Mrs. Antisdale I started Oct 2019 And I am presently with them. As for my profession I specialize : Dementia, Alzheimer, Medication management, and Hospices care , daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, meals preparation transferring if need it and light house keeping. Hours I can work 9:00a.m -5:00 p.m M-F NO WEEKENDS
