I am 35 years old and I have over 10 years experience. I have always had a soft spot for the elderly.

I have enjoyed being a caregiver for a few years now. It's something that just kinda fell in my lap. My stepdad had a stroke an was going to be put in the nursing home as he had no one to care for him to go home. So I offered to give it a try so he could be at home while he progresses. I went to the hospital an stay a few days before he was released an nurses an doctors spend alot of time with me explaining do an don't s. He had to help with everyday all day normal of liveing. Bathing, changing diapers because he wasn't able to walk. Cooking cleaning an therapy . Lots of therapy an also had to where a vest to shock his heart if it was to stop working. Over time was very emotional has I never believed I could make a difference like I did. But he was albe to walk again an on his own. An upgrade to useing the bathroom on his own . All but sometimes help with bathing. He's still doing good an still needs help. But progressed enough where he only needs me part time. I worked hard an always kept a smile on my face to encourage him to keep moving forward. During this time I also started doing part time help with my grandmother an concerns she had. An I e learned so much over the passed few years an enjoyed knowing I could help that I decided to continue offering my guidance. I learned things I never thought would happen an makes me smile knowing I can give a smile!

My grandmother & grandfather was nurses/ caregivers.Grandmother was also a doctor.Grandfather was a nurse stationed o er seas in WW 2. Raised to respect those in need.Be kind ,considerate,& humble.Helping those in need is a gift.

I started In the medical field in 2009 after going to school for phlebotomy. I worked at Irwin county hospital from 2009-2012 in the admissions and lab department. In 2012 I left the hospital to work with dr mahendra amin and I worked patients up doing vitals, daily paperwork, called prescriptions in, assisted dr in procedures like colposcopy, cryo, hormonal treatments, ultrasounds, paps, etc. I also administered injections. Then I went to work at dr Silveiras office. I was the triage nurse. I worked patients up, did vitals, did allergy therapy, CT scans, hearing test, pre-certification for insurance for procedures in office and out of office, referrals for in the facility and out the facility, scan documents into charts, gave injections for immunotherapy, etc. I believe in being a team player, but main concern is making sure the patient/ individual is in a trusted environment to help to adapt with getting better or surviving until they have other options.
