I have been a caregiver/med tech for the past two years. I started in Meridian Idaho at Alpine Meadows Assisted Living as a night shift caregiver I then moved to Jerome Idaho and got a job as a swing caregiver in Twin Falls at Chardonnay Assisted Living. I still work for Chardonnay in Twin, but not as often. The reason I don't work at Chardonnay as often as I used to is because I gave birth to my first daughter nine months ago. I would rather be home with her then away from her. My boss works with me and she calls me about once a month to see if I can work a few shifts in a week. I usually work it out with my husband because he works the 4 AM shift at Costco. I started caregiving because my dad was in desperate need of a noc shift caregiver for his assisted-living. I wasn't planning on going into caregiving, but it was better pay than what I was getting for what I was doing. What I enjoy most about caregiving is the connection you make with your residents. That is my favorite thing. You can form friendships with them and some of them may not have family that live close by so they don't get to see their family every day so you become like family to them and I really love that.

I chose this field because I am a nurturer by nature. I love working with people who can not meet their needs on their own and to be able to assist in helping them achieve some sense of normality is rewarding to me. I will be starting school in September 2020 for a degree in nursing as I want to further my career. I am compassionate and understanding towards my clients and their families.

My name is Mary, I am 30 years old married with two beautiful children. I have a huge heart and love to do for others, that's why I enjoy caregiving. I sincerely enjoy helping people, especially the ones that came help themselves. I've been in the caregiving business off and on for several years now, and I love it so much! My favorite part about caregiving is when my clients are happy, when I can put a smile on their faces. I enjoy making them laugh and taking them out to do things (if they are for being able to go out). Spending time with them and getting to know them is also wonderful, sometimes I like to surprise my clients by doing little things for them or by getting them a gift or just something from the heart that they really loved and appreciated... I have the heart and soul of a mother, taking care of others and helping others in any way I can is my passion in life. I couldn't ask for better gratification than that in which I get from doing for others.

I have been a CNA for 29+ years and love taking care of people. I am firstaide CPR certified plus have my med pass certificate. I have been an assisted living house manager and also an administrator for an assisted living facility. I have experience with alzhiemers,dementia and I have no problems lifting 50lbs or more. I love to clean and cook too.
