I first became interested in working with the elderly in high school. I have worked in care facilities as well as in client homes. Personally I enjoy working in the homes more allowing the person to stay in their home versus going to a facility. I have been a CNA for almost 4 years but I have been around the medical field my entire life. I am a very kind and caring person. Your family member(s) will always come before myself. What attracted me to care giving is that I want to make a difference abs be there for your family when you aren't able to. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the feeling of self-accomplishment. I feel like it's am amazing heart-warming feeling whether it's being there day 1 when your loved one experiences a major health issue requiring assistance, or maybe it's being there because your schedule is too hectic to be there for your loved one 24/7. I have experience with hospice care as well. I am also a very strong individual so if ur loved one requires extensive lifting it won't bother me at all. One of the personal achievements I'm proud of is being able to being someone back to life when they thought they were too far gone.
