I am 57 years old mature, responsible and experienced caregiver from Bloomington.my background is in Elementary Education but in the last 10 years or more, I have worked as a Home Health aide in senior facilities and residential. My services can provide companionship, light house cleaning, meal prep, shopping, strands, take to appt. Personal care, and pet care if needed. My goal is to provide services to help a client live more independently in their own home environment and give the families peace and assurance that their loved one is in great hands. I am a people person, have a great sense of humor, intelligent, as well as common sense, and very outgoing. Great multi-gasket as well as great communicator. Dependable and rarely ever get sick! I have had Certified Nursing Assistant training, Direct Support Professional training, Qualified Medication Aide training, and am well read with experience as Physical Therapy Aide. As a caregiver, it is nice to have both a decent medical vocabulary and an interest in continuous learning about the functions of the human body.

I started working with patients in 2015 and completely fell in love with taking care of others. I have never worked a job where healthcare wasn't involved. Last summer I started some private care for a friend who was recovering from broken leg. I started with Senior Helpers at about the same time but did not have client for a few months. Since Covid-19 I have primarily just done weekly grocery shopping. I currently provide a shower to a weekly dementia client and clean her bathroom and cat boxes.

I have had experience with a variety of clients and I am hoping to get to experience many more! I knew I wanted to be a caregiver when I saw my grandmother in a nursing home and realized that the importance of being in the comfort of your own home when you have health issue. I love the idea that I'm making a real impact on someone's life and that I'm helping them live out their days as comfortable as they can be!
