I have been a caregiver for 15+ years fresh out of high school. I became a cargiver because my grandmother had took ill and developed dementia. My family and I took alot of time to care for her in the comfort of her own home until she departed in 2009. I knew that i wanted to be a caregiver because caring for people is my life I enjoy being able to put others and meet their needs before my own. Being a caregiver was not always easy and through out the years I have learned to be compassionate, caring, loving and also very giving. And through out the years I have further my education and I have more than one certification that I can provide care for.

Am a very compassionate person good listener even when i was a child there was something that drove me to Elder people and the sick it didn't matter rather old or young. My heart was there i do whatever i could to help. I lose my grandma to cancer. I was very young i remember standing by her bed when i was a child watching over her running out to catch my school bus with tears in my eyes peoples like doing different thing. It my calling from the lord to help i love doing. Being a care giver ever client i ever had was proud of me so i must be doing something good. It give me joy to be able to help put a smile on some one face. That give me joy to make someone smile it really. Make my day most of all cna is not just a job to me it's a compassionate nurse Assistants who love doing her job it give her joy. That supasses understanding. My name is Shawndell Rideau I've been in the medical field for about 15 years. I'm experienced in skilled nursing, homecare, special disabilities, hospice care, rehab, etc . I love what I do being able to care for other is passion and blessing to put a smile on their face. Since I was a little girl going to the nursing home with my school choir singing and dancing for the residents always made them happy . At 19 I went and got my C.N.A license and went from there pursing my passion . I went to school a couple years back and got my Medical Assistant Certification which im proud of and want to go back for my R.N.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I treat the patient that I get as if they were part of my family. I naturally have an urge to help others and I want to make the world a better place and they do it with one home care patient at a time. I am a person with a big heart who has patience, empathy, compassion, reliable and I am trustworthy. I enjoy having that personal relationship with someone I am caring for the most. Seeing you and stranger become so close is a beautiful thing to me. I have my CNA but I currently can not find my certification number but I have papers to prove that I am certified if needed.
