I am an experienced caregiver and CMA.I enjoy Doing what I do.Being raised by my grandparents and having grown up around other families with mental and physical illnesses as well as getting to go to work with my stepmom,an LPN, I believe has given me the patience and compassion I have. I have worked in facilities before and feel home care is the best for individuals when possible. I love doing private care as it gives me more one on one with my clients. Facilities teach not to "get attached" and discourage bonding between residents/clients and staff and I don't see how that is possible if you truly have a heart. I believe it takes a heart to care for people.

What makes me a great caregiver is my passion in being able to be a part of the elderly staying in their homes if thats what they want, instead of a nursing facility. Sometimes that isn't always easy for the families to accomdate that request and that's where i come in, to help make that possible. I love being outside as well, in some instances i have been able to do certain activities with some of my clients ive had, that they may wouldn't have been able to do otherwise. Ive worked with clients having different situations from just needing compaionship and doing activities, to more of needing personal care, all the way to hospice care. They are my blessings & have blessed me with son 2too be 5 grandchildren. My mother was an RN, father a physical therapist. I'm a Capricorn making me a loyal& trustworthy person. I'm easy to get along with and take pride in my work. I've volunteered hundreds of hours since I was 13yrs old in various VA hospitals and nursing facilities. I'm an avid believer in giving back what you can when u can. I've been a licenced Cosmotalagist for 28yrs with the last 15yrs doing in home clients who can not get to a shop which brings me to where I am today being a care giver. I owned a shop in Clinton Mo in the early 90s & once a month for 5yrs would close shop to the public and spend 2days doing "camelot kids". Kids from.low income families could come in & get free shampoos haircuts lice treatments manicures etc. I enjoy being able to go to peoples homes and assist them with everyday tasks and I enjoy the friendships that builds. I live alone now and am able to this work. I have some medical knowledge growing up inn the medical field & being a hairdresser makes me the perfect candidate for being a personal caregiver.

I believe that I am a great caregiver because I don't think im just there to help bathe the clients or clean their home, I'm also there to be there companion and treat them as if their also my family. Nobody wants a random stranger in their home that's just there to clean up after them and make them feel uncomfortable. I chose to be a caregiver because some people aren't as compassionate as others when it comes to helping with things such as cleaning up after someone else or helping with toiletling/bathing in the situations some people would feel uncomfortable in.
