I started caregiving for my grandmother who was suffering from dementia. Being a good caregiver requires a lot of patience. I provide that to people in my care and hope to assist them in ways that improve their quality of life. One of my greatest accomplishments as a caregiver was seeing someone recover cognitive ability after switching from nursing home to in home care.

I believe that the best trait in me is determination. I like to encourage my patients to do as much as they can on their own with me their so that they do not lose their independance. My passion in the healthcare setting is unlimited and I have had the availability to attain employment in almost every role from PCA to NA. I love to put a smile on someones face especially when they have had a rough day or appointment. A personal achievement would be working full time and in nursing school as well as working on the RN-BSN while raising a child on my own.

My name is Taviasha I am 20 years old I started home care when I was 16 with my mother , helping with her home care business. From then on helping people & caring for them is what I always wanted to do . At the age of 17 i decided to go ahead & when I turned 18 I got my Pca & also cpr certificate. I been working as a pca for almost 2 years & I finally decided to move up & get my hours to become a Cna. All my hours are in & April 22nd 2022 I will take the Cna exam with prometric . I love what I do & I do it from the heart . I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is feelings others know you care about them . & making someone feel welcomed & safe .

I've assisted with basic companionship to total care which includes activities of daily living "ADL's" bathing, dressing, shaving, feeding, errands, meal prep, medication management etc. I love and enjoy my profession working with my clients. I am a very caring, kind, intelligent, respectful, and responsible. As for what attracted me to be a care giver is I see so many articles and shows on tv showing all of these residents being abused and it broke my heart and I wanted to make a difference so I decided to go to a technical high school were I got my CNA as well as all of my other certifications. What I enjoy most about being a care giver is the smiles I get when I do even the littlest thing s for my residents I am not saying it is always easy or picture perfect but I think of my residents as family members and treat them exactly how I would treat my own family member because you always have to think they did not ask to be in there situation and that is what I always refer back to. One of my personal achievements that I am proud of is I went to a technical high school and got all of my certifications there and now am currently attending a university to further my education while working per diem. As well as currently looking for a full time job so I can continue helping people while also saving money for college.
