Hello, my names Diana. I am a licensed COTA with a bachelors degree. I worked per diem in a few different nursing home so I have experience with the geriatric population. I did home care during my fieldwork. I have experience working with clients in their homes. I love helping others and making individuals feel comfortable in their homes.

I like what I do because I used to have a disable and handicap son and he die and I decided to work in this to help the people in need if I am understand and use my experience in what I know to work to help does people in need beside my work I do voluntary job too and I am very proud for what I do I have more than 35 years experience but I don't have any license but I want to take it

I believe I'm a great caregiver because I am passionate and caring I love taking care of people and helping them anything I could do to make a person's life better makes me feel better about myself. I started in the field because I do enjoy caring for people so much. I have dealt with all kinds of people from different age ranges with a range of different issues that they may need assistance with and I have always loved doing what I'm doing and I will continue to love doing what I'm doing. I have tried other career paths and they just weren't for me and I honestly believe that caregiving and taken care of and helping people is what I was meant to do.

I currently work as a direct support professional at Saratoga Bridges. I find this job very rewarding and touching. I feel that those with disabilities have the biggest hearts and offer the greatest learning opportunities. Many.people are quick to judge these people instead of taking the chance to really get to know them. I think they would offer you the world if they had it to give. I enjoy watching them grow and helping them in the areas in which they may struggle. I enjoy joy helping others and have a big heart. I have always been one to help those who need it. I am currently going to school to become an RN and eventually want to work with children with cancer at St. Judes.

I have been a CNA for the past 5 years and currently I am in nursing school. My time in nursing school really honed my skills and knowledge, which has been invaluable in caregiving. I have been working as a Home Health Aide for nine years, one of my patients, my last one was with me for eight years till she past away. . During that course I also work with two patients in a day on different shifts. All of my patients love my dietary cooking, as well as my easy to get along personality. This is my job and I love it and everything I do is with love. Mrs D.S. was a small 4 feet 5 inches frail 89 years old widow, whom had everything from Alzheimer's dementia to Diabetes mellitus and kidney disease, coronary arterial disease and hypertension I took care of her till the very end ,may she R.I.P... Growing up with my grandparents I learned to care for the elderly. Once my grandparents got older I ended up caring for them until they passed. I'd cook, clean, medication reminders, help them walk, help them in the tub, help them get dressed and do grocery shopping. I enjoyed doing it and being there for them. Eventually after they passed I ended up moving to gloversville to care for my father who is legally blind. I'd do his grocery shopping, clothing shopping, cook, clean house and laundry. I did this until he was able to get a in home nurse to come in every day. Then, I ended up getting a job through Fulton Center to be able work with the elderly and be there for them as some families don't see there loved ones once in nursing home so, with working In that setting it brings joy to some of the residents to have that time with someone even of they believe your they're family seeing them. Being a caregiver is rewarding to see the smiles on others faces that you bring to them and knowing that they know you care about them.

For 2yrs I took care of my grandparents before they passed. My grandpa had hard time remembering so, had give him is medication and to take a bath. My grandma had a hard time working so I had to do her dressing on her foot, cook, clean, laundry ect. Having to care for my grandparents made me want to be able to care for others plus lot seniors don't have companions where they just want company and feel wanted/loved. I enjoy bringing joy to seniors to see them happy and laughing. My personal achievement is everything I learned caring for my grandparents and then helping care for my husbands cousin who has autism. Just joy you see in them and what you also learn from them.
