I am a very outgoing person that loves to take care of our elderly and the young I got into being a caregiver back in 1998 was looking for something that would fit my schedule didnt know that I would have such a great love for it to be in the field for 20 years I enjoy making our clients feel right at home with having me around my great achievement is knowing that I am making a difference in someone else life

Before I thought that I was a really patient person because I used to take care of my love ones,friends, neighbors,etc even when they've shown bad actitudes or behaviors or situations that you really need to understand , love , and accepts and be able to just offer them your help. But I realized that is not just patience what i need , is also compassion, and consciousness that we all need each other's as a human being. I think this is the most important part for being a great caregiver . When I discovered that ,I deside to become a caregiver ,and I love to be part of all this wonderful ladies, and gentlemen life's that I have been able to work with. I feel so blessed after so many years helping getting all the knowledges ,wisdom ,kindness,and so much love ,etc from them. I moved in from California six years ago and I still feel heartbreaking from my clients that I left back there but I have been in touch with all of them and that make me feel better, I have some references from all my clients and the agencies that I've been working with from California and now from my clients here in Shoreline,Seattle and Edmonds area that I've had the privilege to work with. My name is samantha i go by sam i am 31 years young and i have experience in home care and in an assisted living home including dementia certification, trach and vent training, ability to use a hoyer lift, bathing, cooking, cleaning, sponge bath, turning, ive even put a catheter in before, med dispense, also amongst other things. I used to care for mother untill she passed away she had ALS i watched her through every stage and by the end of it she was vent dependent. I enjoy working in home care because it feels good to help others and use my knowledge for good. I have my own vehicle and i already work a full time job as a resident assistant in an assisted living facility.I am currently looking for something part time.

My first attempt at being a caregiver was on the job training. My deceased wife had a lot of health problems. Diabetic, COPD, renal failure leading to dialysis. We ended up getting Anita a self-powered wheelchair which gave her a since of independence. I adjusted pretty good in being able to help her. She was a very loving person and it was easy to give her the love back in caring for her. I took an evening job so I could be available to take her to dialysis 3 times a week. While she was receiving her treatments, I would doing grocery shopping, laundry, and run around errands. She had a great attitude towards her health problems so I adjusted well in helping her however I could. I was truly an act of love. So I became a caregiver out of necessity but never resented it. It was like a partnership. I could do all the things that she was not able to do. It worded out pretty well. I have no regrets. I enjoyed the chance to help someone and see on her face her appreciation for what I could do. I have always liked help people and when I was a teacher did this in my classrooms. With Anita this was a chance to help her exclusively. My person achievement in being a caregiver was making her life complete and she was very happy until the day she passed on to the lord. I miss that lady but was thinking that I could recapture the feeling of help a person or family once again. I was the greatest feeling that I ever felt...
