About me: My name is Nichole Dabney. I go by Nicky. I have been a service provider and care taker for over 6 years now. I have been liscened Independent Provider with the Department of Developmental Disabilities for over 6 years now. In addition to that, I also teach high school. This is my 2nd year of teaching at Liberty High School. When you love what you do it's not considered work. I got into this field after spending many years of caring for my Mother who was also wheel chair bound. It only seemed right to contine down this path even after she passed on. I think this is something that comes naturally to me. I wear many hats, but Mom is by far my favorite job of them all. I have two beautiful children whom I Love dearly and they are my number one supporters and fans. I am grateful for the opportunity to work in my gifts. I believe that everything and everyone has purpose. Mines is to be a servant to God's people.

I have always know I wanted to be in the Healthcare field; since I was a little girl. I also love helping people. I love making people feel good. I would say some of my personality traits are; kindness, compassion, intelligence ( I love to learn), and a great sense of humor. What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? Spending time with my clients. I try to have good relationships with my clients. I enjoy spending time with them; getting to know them and helping them. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? Getting my degree! I worked long and hard to earn it!

As an STNA I am trained and have experience in assisting patients with their activities of daily living. These activities often include restroom assistance, bathing and dressing, hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders, and more. I am open and willing to working with all ages.

Something that makes me a great caregiver is the way that I get excited to see my clients and make an impact on their lives. I like that everyday is different with this job, and one on one interaction with elder family members makes my days way more enjoyable! I love when my clients tell me that the food I made for them is yummy or they liked the outfit I picked out for them. I work with some of the best people I know!
