Hello! My name is Edyn and I am originally from Altoona, PA. I am currently in my senior year of nursing school at IUP and will be graduating in December of 2020. I plan to become a Labor and Delivery nurse one day after graduation. I am very dedicated to this field and I believe I have a very warm heart. I am empathetic and can truly advocate for my client's health and well-being. I care for each of my clients as I would want my own family to be treated. I will show both you and your family that I am respectful, trustworthy, and honest. I decided to become a caregiver as I would like to get more of a foot in the door for my nursing career while building a relationship with my client. I am always available as a companion for your loved one and enjoy having different conversations and keeping spirits high. I have completed clinical rotations in Community/Home Health Nursing and feel as though I gained a lot of knowledge throughout the course that I will apply to the caregiver role. I would be more than happy to complete grocery shopping, bathing, and house cleaning for my client as well. I am also educated on many medications and can provide assistance to my client if needed. I have been a caregiver for 4 years. I love it. Knowing that I can make someone happy is a great feeling. I took care of my great grandmother which made me want to become a caregiver. I'm easy going and patient. When taking care of ederly people patience is important. I want to treat them like they are my own family.

I think patience and compassion are essential traits needed for working this type of job. This is a job that might have some challenging situations along the way, and a good attitude goes a long way. Ive always had a giving personality and I like helping people. My grandmother had raised my brother and I since we were toddlers. As Ive gotten older and she has as well, Ive been giving back and helping her along the way. I would say that really kickstarted my compassion and empathy for the elderly. In my opinion, this is one of the most rewarding jobs one can have. Just knowing you are helping someone who cant help themselves, and seeing how grateful they are for it, makes it all worth it.

I've been a CNA since 2015, right out of high school. I love every minute of it and would never turn back. I enjoy everything about it, getting to know each person I take care of and knowing I'm helping them in a way some people can't is the greatest feeling ever!

I am a great caregiver because I treat my clients as my own family. I am a great cook and housekeeper. I love caring for people. Being able to help people as they age and help the family. I've been able to help three patients not need help anymore and be able to live a life by self again.
