Hello, I'm Jessica. I'm a caregiver (TNA from ACAHNCAL) currently working on my CNA Certification. I answered the call and became a professional caregiver during the quarantine. I had been a family caregiver to two members previously and all together, I have 10 years experience. Ive been told I have a servants heart and find I am happiest when making others satisfied. One of the things I enjoy the most about caregiving is hearing stories firsthand. Listening is one of my strong suits because I'm always interested in what some else knows or has done. I'm a easygoing and energetic caregiver. Learning routines, meaning learning the way my patients/clients and theirs families would like things to be done is what made me a great caregiver. I love helping people who really can't help themselves feel a little better and feel comfortable is what attracted me to caregiving. What I enjoy the most about caregiving is the companionships and making sure they get to their doctors appointments and grocery shopping for them really brightens their day. A personal achievement that I'm proud of is taking care of my grandmother all the way until the end. I always made sure she was comfortable, happy and satisfied. she often told me how proud she was of me for taking care of her.

Having spent decades of my life caring for my elderly patients and I love every minute of it, Such an honor for me ! Being a trusted caregiver for many years with patients from all walks of life in various stages in life; sometimes with physical/mental decline I offer care that you can trust. I have great compassion for others in some of the most vulnerable times of their lives when sometimes other family members cannot due to their own family and lives. I give those families comfort in knowing that I will do a good job taking care of their most precious loved ones. It was in nursing school that I knew being a caregiver to the elderly was my passion. I love that I can make individuals feel loved even though I'm not actual family but in time I do feel like family as they have become like family to me. I know that when I give attention to my patients that they are receiving the BEST care that I can humanly give them, I know without a doubt that I'm doing what is most comforting and safe for them. It make me feel good to know that I can take a load off of family members while relieving stress and pressure because we know that caring for a family member is exhausting, I've been there and know. I take no shortcuts in the care of my patients always treating others as I would like to be treated and for me that's as if they were my family.

I started with my grandmother who had dementia. Giving her the support she needed to do the daily tasks. After being a caregiver with her it has inspired me to do it for other people,

I've been a caregiver for about 3 year now I'll like doing it. I wanted to get in to it when my mother got sick then my brother passed away of cancer and I helped out I knew I could do it. It's like you're going to a friends to help out with things that they're not able to do. Actually I would treat them like it's my own mother or father.

I love taking care of people, providing them with better life choices because I'm there to care for them when other times they may be afraid to step too far out of their home, for fear they won't make it back inside or fear of the world and people in it. I want to be there to give them that security blanket and secure them in their daily activities because I know they like to gain that self independence and do things more independently without having to sit around and not get what they wanted done. It helps to promote longer health and happiness from within. Something that so many take for granted. I love caring for the elderly and those that are less fortunate.

Unlike most "sitters", Anne took the time to work on games, puzzles, go over magazines with her, as well as move her into common areas which were calmer and more social than the memory care areas. She has been very caring and considerate of our needs as well as my mother's. Anne has only been available to us part-time but we would have hired her for full time in a heart-beat had she been available. She is excellent!
