I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping other people and I care for them as I would my own family, it brings me happiness to be there for them when they don't have anyone or even the ones that do that just need some around to help them or just be there with them.

Very kind and compassionate Have been caregiving for 20+ yrs CPR certified I enjoy caring for and interacting with a variety of people, but I am very partial to Seniors. Finding out their likes and dislikes and being able to take care of them in a compassionate manner, talking with them and listening to them has afforded me joy in learning about them and letting them know they still have so much value to the world. Recently I have been working privately for families, so this system is new but good. I feel comfortable and able to contribute to their health care plans while sharing information with the family .

I became a caregiver because of my mother. As a young child we helped my grandmother run her in home elderly care business and my mother also volunteered at nursing homes. She also cleaned homes for elderly patients that couldn't keep up with it themselves and said, "I won't clean for abled people to be lazy, I will only clean for the elderly who is struggling to keep up with their normal lives. " I've always watched my mother show compassion and great respect towards her elders. I was the youngest of her 3 children and my older sisters never wanted to play with me. I would ride my bike or walk to the elderly neighbors houses and visit with them or play card games. One neighbor had a hl big garden and would teach me how to garden and even built a monkey bridge between two of his trees in his yard for me to climb and swing on. I've learned that most of the time the older the wiser, and have gotten great wisdom and advice from elderly men and women throughout my life. I have 6 children and I keep a clean mostly happy home with home cooked meals and my own little garden and small chicken coop. If I'm not working I'm at home caring for my children. I told my mother I wanted 8 children when I grew up and she laughed. Until, that is, number six was due to arrive. I have a pretty good understanding of how to keep people alive and healthy. I'm active, I go walking at the park, and around my neighborhood often. I was also a stay at home mom for 13 years and managed all the errands and finances and cooking on my own. I'm great at serving others and I'm very polite and respectful.

Caregiving just comes naturally to me I simply love helping others. Lots of times I been asked the question " why do you do this" " do you like wiping butts " my reply is I love what I do and it's not just wipes and butts involved in this field. You give your time , your hands, your eyes basically your everything too help someone else and that is rewarding too me. I have chosen this field because I am a natural nurturing person at heart. Im a very compassionate person and also a people pleaser I strive for perfection in my jobs. From just being a companion to full on total care. Worked in nursing homes, hospital settings and private duty in the home. Housekeeping too cooking I do it all.
