I have been a caretaker all my life. I have 3 grown children. I took care of my uncle that was a veteran for 3 years before he passed. He had dementia. I have been a home heath care worker for 2 years. I love to sit and talk with my clients and find out things about them. I enjoy getting them out of the house if possible for ice cream. I enjoy my work. They are not my clients they become family. I am also had covid vaccinations and boosters. I will wear mask it's client preference.

My name is Andrea Sparks and I am a wife and mother of two daughters and one son. Helping others is something that I've always been passionate about. To me it is such a rewarding career being that not only do you get to know your patients well but also get to know their families as well. I have been working as a caregiver for over 15 years now. What made me want to be a CNA/ Caregiver, was when I was 16 my grandfather whom I was very close to had a massive stroke and ended up being paralyzed on the right side, he had to be placed into a LTC center even though we wanted to keep him at home. But it was when I visited him daily that I saw and realized what being a caregiver actually entailed. They were so good to him, and in turn he not only thought the World of them, but we all did to. This helped me to realize what I wanted to do when I grew up.

I love the role I play in my patients life as a care giver! I take particular pride in providing care specifically detailed to my patients needs and preferences. Nothing makes me happier than those little moments my patients give me a hug and tell me they are so grateful for me!

I am a very outgoing person. I love talking and helping older people. I was attracted to become a caregiver when my mother in law had her first very bad surgery. She had a very bad stomach surgery. I dressed her wounds and had to clean and put on a med vac on her wound. She also had a colostomy bag that I cleaned and changed for her every time she needed it. She has had about 6 surgeries every sense and I have taken care of her every time. I love taking care of people because it makes me feel like im doing something good in life and that makes me happy. I am a Nurse with a great passion for my career in nursing. I have always spent my time caring for others throughout my life including children. I appreciate the stages of life and the fact that every person is unique in that no two people respond to any situation or illness in the same way which requires a great deal of communication and organization to find what care plan works best for each one. My greatest accomplishment other than being a mother to my two amazing kids, has been becoming a nurse where I have gained additional skills to provide the best care possible.
