I started off working with children ages 3-17 with autistic disorders, substance, mental and physical abuse ( Youth counselor). I then branched off into working with elderly adults. Expert caregiver with over 10 years experience providing caring supervision and assistance with ADLS/IADLS to clients/residents of varying ages in facilities and within the home. While I enjoyed my time in the facilities and became very close to some of my residents, I prefer the home setting where my clients have been most comfortable because they were in familiar surroundings. I enjoy my job because of the people that I have been lucky enough to come in contact with. I hear stories from other people about their clients and I say to myself, I haven't had those issues. I have never had a client that I did not get along with or just could not tolerate. My clients made it easy to enjoy going to work everyday and not look at it as just a job because I never made them feel like they didn't have a choice or a say in what was going on. I always made sure they knew they still had options everyday.
