I started my caregiving career at the age of 12 when I started volunteering at a local nursing home. At the age of 19, I took the 120-hour course and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. I am still listed on the Wisconsin Nurse Aid Registry under my maiden name; however, I have not followed up with continuing education, so I can only perform these duties in a non-federal facility or home. I have worked in nursing homes as well as worked in private home care. I have extensive experience in caring for people with dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. I have cared for younger adults who have special needs, but my main experience is in caring for the elderly. My philosophy is to treat the people under my care the same way I would want a loved one to be treated. I believe it is always possible to maintain dignity regardless of the help needed. I see people, not diagnoses. I am very intelligent and friendly and have an excellent sense of humor, which is so important in this kind of work! I am most interested in live-in home care for one family. I believe that continuity of care is extremely important for establishing trust. I find that it can be confusing and distressing for you or your loved one when there is a revolving door of caregivers. Also, I find that the loved ones of the person receiving care rest much easier when they have one point of contact. I would expect that there would be some respite hours on my behalf to avoid caregiver burnout; however, I would still be available if a respite worker couldn't come for his or her shift. I currently live in Two Rivers, WI, but am open to relocating for the right position. Thank you for reading this and I hope you reach out with any questions. Excellent references available upon request/interview.

What makes me a great caregiver is that im in it and there for them. I got a big kind loving heart and enjoy spending quality time with them. I like to make them feel as their quality of life still has a meaning and just cause their age my prevent them from doing things as they did before it doesnt mean that that there life has stopped or aging has to be a sad time in their life and that it should be the best and most enjoyable time in their life. I come from a family of different ranking nurses with big hearts and know from the age of 8 that, that was my calling in life when my grandmother who also became my only mother i knew fell ill of leukemia which took her from me very fast and who i soon fell to caring for getting needles and shots and other such things to prolong her life i wanted and learned how to do this. The ongoing process of many hospitals everyday after school i lost what most kids had but to me it was worth every last miniute being able to spend them with her. To me this is my way of keeping her alive knowing that helping them and having understanding of them listening and laughing to me if i can do that then i make their lives that much better

As a child I grew up working with my mom at hospitals and nursing homes while she was a CNA. By the time I reached High School I knew what I wanted to do, take care of people and show love to the people who need it most. I decided to get my license early in High School so that my first job ever would be my career. I am the best candidate to take care of your loved ones because they deserve someone who cares about how they feel, what they want out of life, and most importantly who will love them as family. I have made so many wonderful relationships with my residents and their families. Giving your loved one a caring, fun, and loving caregiver is what I can provide.
