I love people and I've always had a heart for seniors and those with physical challenges. I am actively involved with the seniors at my church also. Sixteen years ago I ran across an ad looking for someone to be a caregiver/companion to an older gentleman with Alzheimer. He immediately was very comfortable with me and enjoyed our time together. I was with him for only a year and a half before he was moved into a private facility. That short time we shared was very special to both of us. I spent a lot of time with him and got to know him very well. I would engage him in conversations and accompanied him on long walks. Since then I have assisted a young woman with MS for 5 years. She was wheelchair bound and she and I shared our love for music. She became bedridden and in need of more nursing care and my employment with her ended and yet we remained friends. For the last 10 years I have cared for an older woman also with MS. I am loyal, reliable and trustworthy. I am self motivated and conscientious. I strive to help my clients maintain their independence, autonomy, and dignity. I have assisted with all aspects of housekeeping, errands, meal preparation, scheduling appointments and escorting my clients to them. I have a clean, current BCI and Cori, and a good driving record and a wide variety of references available.
