About Daphne

What makes you a great caregiver? I consider myself as a great non-medical caregiver because I've been performing this task for many years, but more so on a regular basis for over the past ten (10) years. Growing up, I observed my mother, who was the Commandant of The British Red Cross Society, took care of the wounded, sick and other individuals who might have gotten hurt and needed care. I develop that same sense and passion to service people. Now that my mother is no longer with us, I left the corporate arena and started service in memory of my beloved mother to carry on her legacy. Even though I'm not a certified caregiver, I am experience in the services I provide, as I mock everything I saw and learn from my dear mother. Why did you become a caregiver? I became a non-medical caregiver because I wanted to carry on my mother's legacy and it was something I grew to love. I left the corporate arena to assist the less fortunate who need more assistance in this field of work and it's more gratifying to me than fighting Wall Street. What do you like being a caregiver? I like being a non-medical caregiver as it's more gratifying for me. It also put me in a position to assist those who are less fortunate in paying enormous fee in assisted care living. What's the personal achievement you are proud of? The personal achievement that I am proud of is the fact that I work along with families and their budget to keep them in their homes longer, rather than for them going to an assisted living facility. I help keep them in their homes, which is their first priority.

I served as a Companion/Personal Caregiver to seniors for over ten (10) years. I felt happy to know that my caring and assistance kept them in their homes longer than expected. My duties and responsibilities included companionship, managed medications, go for short walks and drives around the neighborhood, grocery shopping, meal preparation, cleaned up and sanitized kitchen, light housekeeping, dust, vacuumed and floor care and took care of house plants. Changed linens, made the beds, kept bathroom clean and sanitized, performed laundry, empty trash and set it out for pickup. Assisted with organization, closets, cabinets, photos, coupons, mail and managed calendar. Engaged them in special activities and projects, reading, games, singing, correspondence. Transported clients to/from doctor's appointments, shopping, out to lunch, church and special events, and visits with friends. Engaged them with good conversation to alleviate loneliness and isolation. Monitored safety and wellness and always stood close by for safety and assistance. I am looking forward to assisting another great family with their loved ones for a minimum of four (4) hours/day, but preferably forty plus (40+) hours a week. Thank you kindly!
