In 2001,age 12, i was diagnosed with a brain tumor, within minutes, i was rushed into the city, to CHOP, in seconds, my childhood changed. Even though, through the stress, worry, and hectic moment, the nurses, doctors and aides were able to keep my mind busy, keep my laughing and smiling and somewhat worry free. If it wasnt for the staff i dont know what i would of done. But at that time in my life, i realized, i wanted to give back to others, as i was given. I wanted to be there for someone, thru there rough times. Since being a certified nursing assistant(7 years), i have met wonderful people, helped them with care, companionship, and have touched there lives in a good way, making them laugh instead of cry, talking about there past and family. I am very proud to be there for the ones that need help and care, even just holding there hand, to let them know im there, and there not alone, makes me feel good to know, i am giving back like i wanted to when i was 12, in the hospital, scared to death, but had the aides,nurses, and doctors to hold my hand and make me laugh.
