A personal achievement of mine was when I worked with an individual who was non verbal and he had a lot of behaviors and he could be very mean. I spoke to him and treated him like he was the same as everyone else. I cooked a special dinner for him and made it all homemade from scratch and he watched me make the whole meal. When I served him he looked at me took a bite then reached over and grabbed my arm gently and kissed my arm and he smiled so big. It took about a month to get that acceptance from him. When he finally accepted me it made me tear up. I felt so accomplished because this guy ran off so many Direct support Professionals. I felt as though I could do anything because of the wonderful feeling of gratitude and gratefulness that I received from that individual.

I have always enjoyed helping other people live their lives to the fullest extent possible. I have compassion for the elderly and disabled and my goal is make their lives easier and more fulfilling for as long as possible. I have a personal commitment to making people as comfortable as they can be when they are ill or experiencing any condition that causes them to require in-home care.
