Making a difference in people's lives has been a passion of mine. My family owned a Nursing Home/Home for the Aged for 36 years. This is were my passion for taken care of people was instilled in me. I worked as a caregiver, cook and handled recreation programs for our residents. Throughout the years I worked for Connecticut Hospice, The Alzheimer's Resource Center, and as a Private Caregiver for children and adults. I had the honor of caring for my Dad and both my Grandmother who all had Alzheimer's. There are many types of Dementia. Training and knowledge is important to understanding the needs of your love ones and clients you care for. This past December I completed training courses for The National Caregiver Certification Program, Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia and 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's. These certification courses provided me with new ways to communicate with Dementia clients. I make sure the things that are most important to my client are done every shift. This is achieved by asking your priorities, then once they're completed if time allows I do my best to tackle the non-priorities. Compassionate, reliable, punctual, treating everyone with dignity and respect are values I live by.

Being able to help another human being; to be their eyes, ears, hands and feet is one of the greatest purpose and service in life. I feel very privileged to be given the opportunity to be of service.

I have more than 10 years experience in the health care field. Took care of my grandma when she had a stroke. That's what got me into the care business. I have the patience for the job. Loving and caring. Have 2 teenagers and a 8 yr old. What makes me a great caregiver is my inability to give up. I will push until my patient receives the proper treatment and is fully satisfied. I love working as a caregiver making sure my client has comfort when no one else is around and they always have a smile until their no longer requesting my service. I got into this field with my own experience dealing with my grandmother who died from Alzheimer's it was really hard not being able to speak up for her and make her feel more comfortable so I vowed to speak up for those in need and make sure to never fail them.

I am a social and caring person, and also enjoy putting smiles on people's faces, i love the care job so much that i have had a lot of families who communicate and calls me on occasions , even their own celebrations long after their family member that i took of passed, they have become my family too, and personally i can say am more experienced in what i do now after 10 years of experience .

What makes me a great caregiver is because I make my client feel loved and comfortable at all times in my care. It feels good to see your client happy and being treated the right way but also with respect.
