Making a difference in people's lives has been a passion of mine. My family owned a Nursing Home/Home for the Aged for 36 years. This is were my passion for taken care of people was instilled in me. I worked as a caregiver, cook and handled recreation programs for our residents. Throughout the years I worked for Connecticut Hospice, The Alzheimer's Resource Center, and as a Private Caregiver for children and adults. I had the honor of caring for my Dad and both my Grandmother who all had Alzheimer's. There are many types of Dementia. Training and knowledge is important to understanding the needs of your love ones and clients you care for. This past December I completed training courses for The National Caregiver Certification Program, Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia and 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's. These certification courses provided me with new ways to communicate with Dementia clients. I make sure the things that are most important to my client are done every shift. This is achieved by asking your priorities, then once they're completed if time allows I do my best to tackle the non-priorities. Compassionate, reliable, punctual, treating everyone with dignity and respect are values I live by.

Being able to help another human being; to be their eyes, ears, hands and feet is one of the greatest purpose and service in life. I feel very privileged to be given the opportunity to be of service.

With four years of dedicated experience as a caregiver, I have honed my passion for providing exceptional care and service to individuals and families in need. This commitment extends to wherever I work, with the unwavering belief that every customer or patient deserves the very best care and attention. I like caring for my client and helping them with daily activities. Being able to care and take care of my client makes me happy and like working has a caregiver. Helping others improve or maintain a good quality of life has always been fulfilling and satisfying. My greatest personal achievements have been graduating from college with honors, advancing in my career and taking care of my aging parents.

I am a social and caring person, and also enjoy putting smiles on people's faces, i love the care job so much that i have had a lot of families who communicate and calls me on occasions , even their own celebrations long after their family member that i took of passed, they have become my family too, and personally i can say am more experienced in what i do now after 10 years of experience .

What makes me a great caregiver is because I make my client feel loved and comfortable at all times in my care. It feels good to see your client happy and being treated the right way but also with respect. I love what I do because I'm very big on love and I give that out to my clients everyone wants to be happy,

What attracted me to become a caregiver was when I was working with a private family and they hired me to take care of their mother and I grew and bond with her and I knew this is something I wanted to do in my future to open better opportunities for myself.
