my name is Sage, I started being interested in the nursing field ever since I was 15, ive witness multiple family members having illnesses cancer and even death. I always wanted to help people and heal them as much as I can.. I started the CNA program senior year of high school and graduated the same month as high school graduation and I had a job set up for me right away. I dont know the exact field i want to stay in but for now i really enjoy homecare.

I began working as a caregiver st the age of 17. Actually much younger as I often would take care of my mom as she was bipolar and needed a lot of assistance. Caregiving and helping people as always come very natural to me and provides me with a lot of joy. Being able to help with people is always been a priority to me. I have worked in a variety of environments which I believe makes me versatile. I bring positivity into the lives of the clients I work with. My whole life I have always cared for some one. My first real caregiving job was at 16 and I loved it. It is a true blessing to help those that need a little extra care in life due to a illness, accident, or just the aging process. I enjoy cooking, art, gardening, and reading when I have time. I'm from Oahu and moved to Maui 1990. Then got some mainland experience before coming back home to Maui.

I feel what makes me a great caregiver is that I have many years of experience working with clients with various disabilities and diseases. This has enabled me to be a better caregiver/ nurse aid through better understanding of meeting the needs of my clients.

I think as a caregiver you have to have empathy and compassion for the client... I feel I have the expertise as well as the experience that makes me a good caregiver. I am a single parent who raised 4 children by myself and am proud of how they all turned out. Each of them are grown adults now who are sensitive and companionate individuals. I was also in the RN program in Florida. I completed 2 semesters but dropped out to become a massage therapist. I also worked as a Phlebotomist for 3 years. As an Acupuncturist I treated many different problems with adults and children. I took care of my mom who had dementia for many years until she went into a nursing home. I also took care of my brother who had dementia for a couple of years until he went into a nursing home. I lived on Oahu from 1978-1989. I moved back to Florida where I grew up and just moved to Maui 3 weeks ago. My personality traits are kindness, compassion, patience, listening and love for all people, these are traits I extend to everyone I meet. Since I was a young girl I have always wanted to help people. As I got older I began to help friends, family, co-workers. Sometimes it was just to listen to them and give support. What I have enjoyed most is how it makes me feel to be a caregiver. It always feels better to give! The people always teach me especially how to be a better person. I also enjoy making peoples lives better. I am proud of myself for being a mother, daughter, sister, friend, for the schooling I have had, for being healthy and happy, for doing what's right, for being a hard worker, for seeing the good in people, for making a difference in people's lives, for being in awe of life!

my name is jolinda mariano and i love working with all types of people, i would make an amazing caregiver because of my heart , i have a very big loving heart . i took care of my grandmother who had dementia and had real bad sun downers, it was a 24 hour care.. now shes in a better place..... also my father who had ALS i had token care of him even when he was under hospis care...that was also 24 hour care.. bathing, feeding, giving meds and other types of care. I'm very strong so i can lift a lot... I'm very honest, and hard working and very dependable. my tattoos are apart of who i am, there not gang related in any way. i love working with elderly people and well as the disabled. I'm very family oriented. i love to make people laugh as well as just staying home and keeping my patient / friend company.. please pick me :-)
