Why I became a caregiver is because I like helping people I think that's the best job u can have . I had a grandma who I heloped take care of In the last years of her life she had dementia ,parksisons disease, and many other health issues . That definitely made me want to help other individuals and other families through things like that. What I enjoy most with being a caregiver is helping people and making a difference in someone's life and getting to know that person and help out . I'm a very kind and caring person . I moved to Iowa in 1991 and I always wanted to help people my mom told me about being a nurses aide so I applied took my cna training and like 5 years later i took my medication course and i also took classes to do rehab, im the type of person that tries my best to help my patient be happy and well taken care of. i worked 27 years in a nursing home, Im no longer there.I would love to do in home health care. Im proud i stayed at my one and only job in my life and im proud i was loved by my residents and their families thats the best feeling when your appreciated for great care of the patient

I am a very loving and people person . I decided to become a caregiver when I started working at a care center in Hiawatha Iowa as a Dietary Aide . I decided that I wanted to work with the residents instead of serving them . I found a job shortly as being a resident aide at Mayvil assistive living , I didn't have to be certified. I then began to wonder what was the difference in being certified or not ... I started to look into classes to become a certified nurse assistant, I was determined to get my certification. So I took off a month of work to go to school . Believer it or not I loved it , when I finnished school I got at westridge care center , I loved my residents but I decided to return home to my hometown. I would like to get into some home health care ! I enjoy waking up everyday and being the first person my resident interacts with for the day , I smile definitely starts the day off . I also love to be able to tuck my residents in at night !

I'm a very outgoing person that loves to talk to others about anything and everything. I enjoy taking care of others and doing my best in making them as comfortable as possible and feel cared for. I like being a caregiver because I love getting to know other people and being able to make their lives a little bit easier. A personal achievement that I'm proud of is how many times my patients/residents tell me how caring I truly am. These people see so many faces and know how cares about their jobs versus who don't, and to be remembered and appreciated is the most rewarding thing to me.

Caring for others is one of my strong suits. I became a CNA just over a year ago, and have made so many new friends since then. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is not the day to day duties, but the relationships I build with the patients and their families. Each person has a completely different life story, and I get to be a part of it.

Hello! My name is Tea! I've been doing caregiving for about a little over a year. I've worked in facilities and in homes in the past. I truly love what I do and just making a clients day better in any way that I can! I started caregiving due to me taking care of my grandparent a couple years ago and I just really loved making her feel like she mattered and just making her everyday needs easier for her! Since then I knew I always wanted to help others in that way, just to see someone smile or knowing that I've made someones day easier just lights my day up. I'm really proud of the things i've accomplished while caregiving and the people i've met. It just makes it all worth it in the end.
