Based on personal experience, I am attracted to caregiving due to the fact that assisting others in enhancing their daily quality of life - simply gives me a sense of purpose and satisfaction. Hello! My name is Logan and I've been a caregiver for 7 years (longer if you count my personal life) - My brother has epilepsy and I always was a second caregiver to him as he started having seizures when he was only 8 years old, making me 3 months old at the time. I started young working as a PCA at an assisted living facility and after a year of being there I got offered an assistant managers position at Goldenrod, a group home for adults with disabilities. After being there for 3 months I was promoted to Residential Manager of the two homes I oversaw. I love working with people, putting smiles on their faces and more times than not them putting smiles on mine too! I realize this line of work is difficult for some people and it truly isn't for everyone but I believe that you should enjoy what you do especially when you spend so much time doing it and if I'm helping someone even a little, I've had a good day.
