What inspired me to start caregiving was my great grandmother. She was a caregiver and I admired the way she would go above and beyond to help people reach their full protentional. I really enjoy helping people, I find it to be the most fulfilling thing you can do in life.

A little about me I live takeing care of people who just need an extra hand or just want someone to talk to I like be able to help people. My grandmother is a big reason I become a caregiver I watched her for years struggle with Parkinson's an slight dementia and all I wanted to do was help I tried to help her but she was determined to do it herself but she knew I was right by her side if she needed an extra hand.

Somethings come naturally, and caring for children and the elderly seems natural for me. The years prior to my parents passing away, I worked a full time job and still helped take care of my parents. I spent weekend and evening with them. There were no regrets after they passed. What I enjoy the most about caregiving is the pleasure it gives the person I'm helping, and the good feeling I get assisting them. I know both my parents were proud, happy and relieved to be able to have stayed at home until they died. We are a close knit family and that is why I started helping my Aunt and a family friend once my parents passed and I became retired. My daughter is an RN and my son owns his own excavation company. I have six grandchildren, 5 girls and 1 boy. The boy was the last :) I live in a 4 tenement house that originally belonged to my grandparents, then my parents and now my brother owns it. 17yrs ago I moved back to Adams after living in California for 20 yrs. One of the apartments was available so I decided to not buy another house, and just live in the apartment next door to my parents. I had a baby monitor in my parents bedroom and in my bedroom so if they needed me during the night, they could just "yell", which my Mom did often because she could no longer walk on her own. Both my children live on the same street as I do, which makes it nice. I moved back to the Berkshires just in time to enjoy my parents last years before passing.

I have had the amazing privledge of being a care giver for 30 yrs. Starting when I was 16. I feel gratitude for having found my life long passion at such a young age, and to have maintained a constant joy in my service to others. I am constantly learning, whether its meeting new clients or facing new challenges, reading and putting into practice new therapeutic modalities, As health care evolves so do I. I am a confident, competant PCA who loves to laugh and joke, and find what works best for each individual client and family. I am down to earth, compassionate, low drama. As a PCA I specialize in Alzheimer's and dementia care and excell at End of life care.

I am extremely an polite person and outgoing person. I enjoy meeting new people. I realized I do have an amazing caring heart who genuinely loves to help people, also can have a lot of patience which attracted me to becoming a caregiver. One of my most personal achievements throughout being a caregiver I have learned new traits from others, which taught me how to bond with different individuals.

I'm 29 yrs. old and I have a wonderful six yr. old daughter who is my world! I love to help people anyway I can. I have a big heart and I'm just a big people pleaser. I am a little quiet and shy at first but very patient and compassionate. My own personal achievement is that for the last year I have made a big positive impact on someone's life and we formed a special bond. I never thought I would get a chance to do caregiving but when the opportunity came I took it because I wanted to make a difference and help someone and just a laugh or smile from them was so heart warming.

I am understanding and compassionate I enjoy listening to people and the stories they like to share. I enjoy gardening, walking, playing cribbage, cards or doing puzzles. I enjoy helping other with chores they are unable to do. I have had family members with different medical and memory issues, so I think I was drawn to understand the needs of families dealing with similar situations.
