I became a caregiver because I did not want to work in main stream Healthcare anymore. My passion is helping seniors the way they and their family's want to be cared for without Healthcare systems making the choices for their care. I worked as a physical therapy assistant for 27 years. The last 8 were in a rehabilitation department at a skilled nursing facility. I have enjoyed the last 9 years doing private home care as a caregiver. Helping individuals live their lives with dignity, safety and loving care.

I grew up in an environment that make me to understand what they've been going through and he creates in me the passion and love to aid. Life it's to short and we need to make sure to be there when other needs us. l like making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better. You take pride in your attention to detail. You don't want a desk job; you like being physical in your job and using your body as well as your brain. I have worked with all ages except for children (professionally). Art is my main passion and I have made art since my childhood, but as far as job positions, I have always found care jobs. Care is natural for me, I strive to honor the people I care for and am able to build a rapport quite quickly. My biggest joy about caring for others is that I learn an immense amount about different perspectives, experiences in life and get to connect with people that are often cast aside in our youth and perfection obsessed culture. An achievement; when I can truly apply the depth of care and respect that I give to people I help, to myself, that feels like an achievement for where I am right now in life. Helping people become or remain as independent as possible no matter how small a task, is also quite a good feeling.
