I am 26 years old, I have a great deal of experience being a caregiver. All of my jobs but one have been in a healthcare setting. I became my grandfather's caregiver back in 2015. He had Parkinson's, cancer, and agent orange. I worked as a medical receptionist taking vitals, and maintaining confidential patient tech information. I worked as a nursing assistant at the silver city care center for a while. I love being a caregiver. I am patient, adaptive, and a creative out of the box thinker. I want to be a nurse. Im taking online classes right now. I am fluent in Spanish and moderate in American Sign Language.

I was born and raised in El Paso and brought up in a bilingual home by my mother who I always saw as the most empowering and courageous individual. She is the reason I chose to give back and assist families in need of a companion. My mother was diagnosed with cancer at an early age and she fought the battle for nearly 15 years and never gave us a reason to feel one day she'd be gone. She taught me everything I know about listening and being supportive when my grandmother needed us the most. In my younger years I began waking up extra early to help my mother with cooking, cleaning and assisting my grandmother in grooming and preparing her favorite oatmeal and watching her favorite shows. Throughout the years I've been grateful to have been able to obtain all of the skills these two women taught me and above all the ability to apply them in my own daily life and with families in need .

I have 13 years of patient care is what makes me a good caregiver. I enjoy taking the elderly clients. They are full of life experiences that they want to you about. While taking care of resident in their home makes them feel comfortable. They become a part of family.
