I've been a caregiver for over 10 years

I have been an STNA/caregiver for 19 years! I have cared for patients in nursing facilities, hospitals, and their homes. I lead with love and enjoy serving seniors in any way that they may need.

What makes me a great caregiver is I am loving, passionate and have compassion for people and their needs. I became a caregiver because I was given the opportunity to take care of my grandmother. She was my world and when she was diagnosed with liver cancer, I found my perfect world falling apart. I took care of my grandmother up until the end, and I found it very rewarding. Loving her in such a way has given me a special love for people. I love people, I love being of service to others, and do whatever I can to assist. What I like about being a caregiver is being able to give back and be of service to those who need assistance. I love being a caregiver because I meet all kinds of people from all walks of life. I am able to be in their presence and hear the wisdom that is shared. I am proud of finally achieving my bachelor degree after raising two children as a single parent. I did not allow obstacles to hold me hostage from my goals and dreams.

I'm a very caring person,my passion is working with elderly.I love to be able to help older adults stay independent and living in their homes.I am willing to help clean,laundry ,transport to drs appt, shopping ,pet care .

What makes me a great caregiver is that, I'm very understanding and give my all in providing excellent services, I became a caregiver because I knew I wanted to help others in need it's very rewarding knowing you can make a difference by just being yourself,helping and healing all at the same time.

I am an energetic and positive caregiver! My first patient was my grandmother who was a patient of cancer for 20 years. Since then, I wanted to be able to help loved ones be comfortable in their own home where they can enjoy alot of the same things they always have. I have a passion to care for those in need. Hello! My name is Summer and I am laid back in personality, but very attentive and helpful. I am careful to mold to the patient and familys' dynamics and needs. I love getting to know the people I care for. My greatest accomplishment is taking an interest in the music my previous client played professionally for 30 years, but had lost his ability to play years ago due to illness. Because I listened to his music with him and was willing to reminisce with him, he felt like he'd gained a piece of that partof his life back and began sharing his love of music with his children again before he passed. I enjoy every minute spent with a patient, I love caring for them. I love cooking, cleaning, being their arms and legs, and helping them feel as normal as possible. I am constantly looking for ways to help, to go above and beyond.

I enjoy helping others and providing companionship to others in need. As I was growing up I always would help neighbors with they're yard work and variuos things. Being there for people who need a little extra in life gives me enjoyment to know I can be there for them. Making them feel as independent as possible is also my goal.
