Welcome to my "about me" section. First off , I love animals (not reptiles), I love doing all kinds of crafts, reading, learning new things, history & getting to know people one on one! I am a Christian who attends a local church & love to learn & do bible studies. (I'm not preachy but will converse or answer questions if you have them). I have a very bad SMOKE ALLERGY and can NOT work for anyone who smokes in the house. I have a mentally challenged son who has high functionality, lives, works & has a family and I also have a nephew who is Downs Syndrome, low functioning, & is non-verbal who I care for during my home time.( I will work his schedule around yours.) I love being able to create my own schedule with the work that I do. I have worked with all types of people in between since moving to Oregon 13.5 years ago. When I moved to Oregon I had a job waiting for me in this field because of my niece, who had introduced me to her employer during a vacation to visit her in the Spring of 2008. I never expected to love a job so much nor have I ever held a job this long. It was definitely a God thing. I have taken several trainings through my work for EOSSB (Eastern Oregon Support Services Brokerage) in different areas of care, helping me stay current on types of health problems people have & changing needs. I have earned several completion certificates for these including but not limited too bathing & grooming, toileting, managed care of diabetes (and other problems), medication monitoring/tracking, dementia (personal experience-family), cooking (meal planning), some cleaning etc. I look forward to taking more classes through Carelinx! and working for client/employers through this company.

I have my bachelor's in psychology, although I chose to work with individuals on a personal basis instead of going into the field of psychology at this time. I am very compassionate and patient. I allow my patient's to make their decisions on what they would like to do for the day, I cook them meals. I became a caregiver because i really love taking care of people. I am a nursing graduate in the Philippines. So definitely i love healthe care jobs. I am a proud health care worker because my clients are happy when they are with me. They know i really care for them. . I am simple, responsible, hardworking, passionate person. I am not just working just to get money. I work with care and passion.

I think what makes me a great caregiver is, that not only do I love helping people to get their daily activities done, but I have a lot of personal experience caregiving. When I first got into caregiving I was taking care of a family member who was a paraplegic, and a home health nurse came one day and told me how good of a job and how fast I was at catching on to certain things, and that I should really look into nursing and that is exactly what I did. What I enjoy most about caregiving, is that it's never a dull day, and I can go home feeling good about myself that I had actually accomplished something good for the day. My Personal Achievement that I am proud of, from being a caregiver is that I finished getting licensed in the state of Washington, and was pregnant at the time I was doing it and working a full-time job with lots of overtime I would get at least 60 hours a week. And I got it done. Right now I am going to school to get my Healthcare Administration License because my long term goal is to, travel the US and research different city's that really need home care, and open some adult foster homes for those in need.

Have worked with elderly/disabled men/woman for over three years now. Have taken care of my grandfather the past 3, going on four years and am qualified for many things. CPR certification First Aid DPSST Certification OLLC N/A CNA Have worked in an elderly home for 7 months, in the following years. Have worked with veterans, disabled men/woman with Alzheimer's and dementia . Have many hours with dressing, bathing, meal prepping, and basic house hold necessities.

What are your personality traits or expertise that help you be a great caregiver? I have a great attitude because I love my job, I have always liked helping people with daily activities... What attracted you to being a caregiver? I love making peoples lifes easier, I love organization and the fact I feel good about myself when I go home. And when I wake up in the morning I always look forward to that day at work as well. What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? Everything about the job, and I love getting good comments from clients when I suggest we do something an easier way, they say, "wow I never thought of doing it that way" that's a sense of achievement for me. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? The fact I have learned to do just about any job as a caregiver.
