WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT CAREGIVER? I have a very upbeat attitude. I am very caring, compassionate, patient and I have a huge heart. I stay professional while I am on the job and I take my role as a caregiver very seriously. I like to know the one I am assisting is comfortable and happy, if they are feeling down, I do what I can to make sure they are having a wonderful day and always have a smile on their face. WHY DID YOU COME A CAREGIVER? I became a caregiver because I love helping others. I grew up in the life of taking care of people. I have watched/helped my mom when she was working in the hospital. I assisted my grandmother in helping others in her community. I have babysat for many friends and family members. WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT BEING A CAREGIVER? Its not that I like being a caregiver, I LOVE being a caregiver. Knowing I am making a difference in someone's life and helping them with anything/everything they need is the best. My goal is make sure that by the time my shift is over, they are smiling and happy. WHAT IS A PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT YOU ARE PROUD OF?? my personal achievement I am very proud of was being told that I had made a big impact on two of the clients I was taking care of. I was informed when they were told I was coming on shift they would start smiling and make sweet comments about how I did my job and well I took care of them. Too me that was the sweetest thing and yet most rewarding part of my job.

I'm kind, caring, patient and love working with seniors. I wanted to be a caregiver after my grandmother got sick it gave me a drive to want to be a caregiver. I love working with seniors because I love hearing their stories and taking care of them.

Hi there! I'm Tara and I've been a care giver for 5 years. I am a team player, compassionate, always learning, and love helping others. Compassion is the most important quality when it comes to caring for others. I specialize in Senior care and have 2 years experience with Alzheimer's and Dementia. I've handled medications, ADL's, housekeeping, and strive to create relationships with my clients/family. I got my CNA (expired) when I was 17 in order to begin caring for others and start my experience with the medical field. I hope to finish my Masters in Health Administration at PSU. I enjoy cultivating relationships and improving the quality of life of my clients. I am most proud of participating on a discussion panel for The Oregonian on Memory Care. We discussed better ways to support our seniors and the caregivers/support roles we need.

I have been a caregiver since 1992, I have always enjoyed taking care of the elderly and the mentally disabled. I actually started taking care of mentally disabled in high school. I am a mom of 6 grown kids and 7 grandkids,

Been a caregiver for 8 years now, so I can be kind of pushy when it is necessary for motivation, but i also know when being pushy is to much for others. I enjoy helping others achieve goals and feel good about them selves, and give 100% at any occupation, and try to learn new from my clients as well. Having alot of sickness in my personal family life is what inspired me to become a care giver. Helping people in need has always been my calling, have always had a deep instinct of others well being. I attended 8 months of a 15 month medical assistance school in 2015. Would have gladly finished but the school shut down in town. Im proud of the achievement of having this career for so long, to get to know it so well, with more to come. Just growing and learning everyday is a great achievment.

What makes me a great caregiver is I'm very happy to see each and everyone of my clients everyday. All of them always say I have a smile that lights up the room they are in. What attracted me to care giving is when my grandfather started to decline and we had to help him a lot. The thing I enjoy most about caregiving is being someone they rely on and sometimes the only listening ear they still have.
